A Pop-Up Conversation! Finding Our Way to Restoration and Resilience

I have been writing to you often lately…much more frequently than in years past. It is my way of responding to the chaos of our time, the constancy of uncertainty that has taken hold. I want to live even more deeply into my values of generosity and care, of standing still in the storm and spreading warmth where possible and so look to be present to you and what you might need in this moment.

This is all true…and…also this: writing to you brings a kind of respite to my day, an oasis of connection that enables a recovery, an inner rebuilding. In conversation with this wonderful community of seekers and learners and builders and creators I am reinvigorated. Not in a fireworks-in-the-night kind of way – lord knows it is all too tiring for that right now. But in the I-can-wash-another-dish-and-read-one-more-headline-without-falling-apart kind of way. And that is, I believe, at the heart of what we must do now. Find ways to restore so that we might attend to our lives while not completely ignoring the world – as tempting as that is.

So…a Pop-Up Conversation…one moment…one meeting in the midst of all the swinging swells of thought and emotion and wtf-ness of it all.

On Sat. May 10th I invite you to meet up with me (via zoom) for a chat. No slides, some teaching, a bunch of questions and conversation. Lost and Found: Resilience, Restoration and Returning to Ourselves in Troubled Times, is a bit of a new format for me. Letting go of the formality of teaching for two hours, and instead joining in the stream of shared wisdom and inquiry and I imagine no small bit of humor about the oddities and strains of living right now. We’ll have questions to answer and cuppas to drink and I promise that somewhere along the way we will hear ourselves into a bit of “that is not a bad idea” thinking. We shall repair something…if nothing more than the torn bit of feeling alone in it all within us.

No worries if you can’t attend…register anyway and I will send you the recording.

No worries if the Mother’s Day weekend schedule makes it difficult. This might just be a way of being kind to yourself and those who mother you and those who mother our world.

And absolutely no worries at all if you don’t have a resilience question, or you aren’t sure at all what to do with all your thoughts, feelings, assumptions, or swollen ankles but you just want to give it a go. In a time of chaos…it doesn’t hurt to give things a go.

Write to me if you have questions: [email protected].

And so that you don’t have to wait until the 10th of May, here is a bit of wonder in our strange, strange world, to bring a smile to your heart. An image of the brilliant pink of nature above and a reminder of the return of the sun always: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjyy4tYZFDc
