Crazytown is not a place…but a state of mind.
It is a spinning, swirling, unsettling experience of not knowing where to put our energy, what to trust in, what to double down on and what to let go of.
It is anytime we, or the people we care for or work next to, are asked to navigate moments of change, upheaval, loss, or general ridiculousness in the systems around us. It comes when the values we hold dear are up for question and the basic understandings of how we treat each other are no longer in play. When there is too much to hold, and not enough to look forward to. When our nearest and dearest are suffering.
For many of us, crazytown is here, now, right in line with us at the store as we try to figure out what will help. I have decided that a daily diet of Peanut M&M’s really doesn’t work to alleviate my stress and so am moving on…perhaps Doritos? Definitely donuts will be on my list…and then??
And I know I’m not alone…and want you to know this as well. Ram Das once said, “We are all just walking each other home.” And I would love that to be true for all of us in this wonderful community of learning.
Below are a few offerings to help you find your way through this moment…my way of walking with you through the crazy and into the calm of a field marked by the warming sun and the flowers of summer.
OH…AND…if you are interested in the program below at Cape Cod Institute on The Fateful Story: How Narratives Shape Health, Growth and Resilience know that I can directly offer you a discount!!! When you register, simply add this code: SIROIS2520 for a 20% discount! I’m so grateful for the folk at the Institute who are interested in paving the way forward with generosity!
I leave you with this thought: We belong to this life and to each other. We belong to the land and it to us. We belong to the family of living things and they to us and when we remember this, peace has a chance to rest again within us.
I am so fortunate to belong to this community with you and I wish for each of you that same knowing and gratitude.
Love, Maria
